Welcome to the office of Dr. Eduardo Gonzalez-Hernandez. The practice specializes in the treatment of hand, elbow, and shoulder problems. Board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and having received additional qualifications in the delicate specialization of hand surgery, Dr. Gonzalez-Hernandez treats a variety of problems from the most severe and surgically complex fractures, amputations, and crush injuries to chronic conditions that have a debilitating effect on patients. 

As a new patient to our practice, you can expect that your hand, elbow, or shoulder problem will be met with care and compassion and your treatment will be world-class, utilizing state-of-the-art technology.

As a board certified physician, Dr. Gonzalez-Hernandez maintains and is constantly advancing his knowledge on the emerging surgical techniques that are at the forefront of his specialization. Utilizing available technology such as laser, endoscopy, and minimally invasive techniques, you can be assured that you are in good hands.

Jorge Albert Guerrero, PA-C

Certified, Physician Assistant

Mr. Guerrero has been working with Dr. Gonzalez-Hernandez for many years.  As a surgeon, Dr. Gonzalez-Hernandez utilizes the expertise of Physician Assistants to help in the identification and treatment of many conditions.  Mr. Guerrero may initially evaluate you and recommend certain tests to be performed prior to considering surgical treatments. 

A graduate from The University of Texas Medical Branch, Mr. Guerrero has been practicing medicine since 2002.  While his focus has been in upper extremity orthopedic surgery for over 15 years, he also manages a wide range of other medical conditions.  He is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistant and Florida Academy of Physician Assistants.

Physician Assistants are licensed health professionals who practice medicine and provide a wide range of medical and surgical services as part of their comprehensive responsibilities.  PA’s conduct physical examinations, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventative health care, perform simple and complex procedures, and prescribe medications.

Sergio Lopez

Medical Doctor, Venezuela, Surgical Assistant

Sergio is part of the clinical and surgical team for Dr. Gonzalez-Hernandez.  He received his medical degree at the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1996.  He subsequently received specializations in orthopaedic trauma and orthopaedic oncology.  He moved to The United States due to turmoil in his country and currently provides highly specialized assistance for patients seeing Dr. Gonzalez-Hernandez.  He has an additional certification with the American Board of Surgical Assistants.

Zeyda Carratala, OTR/L

Certified,
Occupational Therapist

A licensed Occupational Therapist, Zeyda uses up to date methods of treating our patients with upper extremity conditions.

A graduate of Florida International University, she is licensed by the State of Florida to practice as an occupational therapist. She maintains her license by continuously updating herself on the advancements in the field of occupational therapy.

She provides a warm and caring atmosphere for patients so that they may recover from their injuries and her persistence and dedication results in incredible outcomes.

Lisa Machado

 Surgical Coordinator

As the surgical coordinator, she will help answer any questions you have regarding surgery and can help provide information regarding insurance coverage.  Her ability to communicate with new and returning patient is exceptional.
